Gifts of Stocks or Appreciated Assets
Donating stocks, mutual funds, or other appreciated assets is a powerful and tax-smart way to support Ayuda’s mission.
When you transfer assets that have grown in value and you’ve held for more than a year, you avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you are 70½ years old or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to Ayuda. This counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) but is not considered taxable income.
Why this matters:
- Reduces your taxable income, even if you don’t itemize deductions
- Fulfills part or all of your required minimum distribution
- Supports immigrant communities in need—with no out-of-pocket cost to you

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is like a charitable savings account—you contribute cash or appreciated assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to organizations you care about over time.

Trump Administration Deploys Federal Agents to Intimidate Legal Services Nonprofits Representing Unaccompanied Immigrant Children
Federal agents from ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations and HHS attempted to access the offices of Washington, DC-area nonprofits providing legal services to unaccompanied immigrant children, including Ayuda. The agents sought records related to child clients but were turned away because they had no warrant or legal authority to demand such information. This coordinated operation is a troubling escalation in efforts to intimidate immigrant advocates and undermine due process for vulnerable children seeking safety.
